Help Some 'Bunny' This Easter

Project G.R.A.C.E. celebrates spring by distributing Easter baskets to many families and local group homes and agencies. Project G.R.A.C.E. gives Easter dinner baskets and children's Easter baskets to Scarborough families who are experiencing financial difficulty.

We are looking for lots of handy helpers to volunteer, to donate Easter dinner baskets, children's Easter baskets and to help organize and assemble baskets. We will be collecting individually wrapped Easter candy and/or snacks along with everyday needs like socks and lip balm.

If you would like to help, please download and fill out an Easter Volunteer Application and return it by March 8th.

Another way to help would be to participate in our Easter basket assembly line on Tuesday, April 3rd, at 6:00pm. Join the "Bunny Brigade" at St. Max's Church on Black Point Road. We will go into full scale spring fever mode and assemble hundreds of small baskets which will be delivered to many local agencies, nursing homes and shelters. School-age students and adults are welcome. It’s a very rewarding evening!

» Easter Volunteer Application

» Spring 2012 Newsletter

Show your support for your favorite team by sponsoring them! Visit their homepage and make your donation, know that you are supporting not only your friends and family, but also a great cause!

The "Start" Of Another Year

There's the calendar year, the fiscal year, the school year and the Project G.R.A.C.E. year. I guess we most closely follow the school year. We are refreshed, revived and are ready to dive into our busiest and most rewarding season.

As those school busses start rolling, so does Project G.R.A.C.E. Of course we are still meeting the needs of recipients during the summer, but the fall is our busiest season.

This year, with the help of many local businesses, donors and volunteers 56 Scarborough students were able to start the year with new backpacks, lunch boxes, school supplies and basic clothing/footwear items. Students whose families are experiencing financial difficulties were able to begin the school year on the right foot.

Coming right up in November is our Fifth Annual Trivia Bee. That's right; our beloved Bee is turning 5! Join us for the celebration on Thursday, November 10th, at The Landing at Pine Point. Spectators, volunteers and trivia challenge teams welcome!

The holiday season is probably what Project G.R.A.C.E. is best known for. For over 10 years we have been working with donors and recipients, making the season a little brighter for those in need.

The cold winter months bring with it the worry of keeping homes warm. Last year Project G.R.A.C.E. spent almost $35,000 so that Scarborough residents will be safe and warm. Unfortunately, with rising fuel costs we expect that number to climb this heating season. Project G.R.A.C.E. and the Town of Scarborough are working together on fundraising for this effort.

If you'd like to get to know us, or know more about us, we'd love to hear from you. Project G.R.A.C.E. is always looking for helping hands for our efforts. Without our volunteers, none of this work would be possible.

We wish you the best for a happy and healthy fall!
