Pleased To Meet You

This year Project G.R.A.C.E. will celebrate it's 10th birthday. We started out small and just kept growing with all the volunteer and community support that we receive. For ten years we have a meeting called the General Committee Meeting. In this meeting we would go over Project G.R.A.C.E. news and upcoming events and how volunteers can get involved. It was open to the community, so anyone who was interested in finding what Project G.R.A.C.E. was all about could attend.

Well, the meeting always had a little bit of an identity crisis, and saw an ebb and flow of attendees. We would scratch our heads and try to figure out a way to have more attend this meeting. We tried moving it to the evening, moving locations, changing the time, moving it to a monthly meeting, bringing home-made baked goods- you name it we tried it! Our organization has no doubt attracted some amazing volunteers through the years because of this meeting. Lately, though it's been Mary and I looking at each other and wondering if anyone will show... Most of our current volunteers have come, joined in, found their niche within Project G.R.A.C.E. and decided that they outgrew the General Committee meeting.

We think that after 10 years, it's time for a change, it's time to let the General Committee Meeting go.... Time to roll up our sleeves and open up meetings that are more focused on an event or a project - such as: Summerfest, Back to School, Trivia Bee, Golf Tournament, 10th Birthday Celebration and the Holidays.

Our plan is to communicate, communicate, communicate.... There are so many ways to do so: email lists, newsletter, website, facebook, just to name a few. We want to get our information out there and be inviting.

Don't be shy, look through our website, become a fan, receive email updates, read newsletter and come meet us. Take a leap of faith and jump in, you’ll be glad you did.
